A high-strength Portland cement blend designed for Texas freeze-thaw cycles and foot traffic. The 4000-PSI rating delivers a hard, dense surface that resists surface wear, scaling, and abrasion from foot traffic and landscape equipment.
For walkways we use #3 rebar at 24-inch on-center or, for lighter-duty paths, wire mesh. Reinforcement keeps the slab monolithic, distributes loads, and holds any hairline cracks tightly closed as the subgrade moves with seasonal moisture.
A 4-inch compacted layer at 95% Proctor density that isolates the walkway from North Texas expansive clay. This free-draining base prevents the settling, heaving, and cracking that destroy unreinforced walkways within a few years.
Optional stamped accent borders, banding, or medallions that frame the walkway and add visual interest. Available in brick, slate, cobblestone, and other patterns to complement your home's architecture.
An optional finish where the top layer of cement paste is washed away to reveal decorative stones — pea gravel, granite, or quartz. Provides excellent slip resistance and a premium, textured appearance for entry walkways.
A protective sealer applied after cure that resists dirt, organic stains, UV fading, and moisture intrusion. For walkways, we recommend a matte or satin finish with a non-slip additive for safety in wet conditions.

If replacing existing concrete, we demolish and haul off the old material. We excavate to proper depth, install the crushed-limestone sub-base, and compact to 95% Proctor density.
Forms are set to grade, concrete is poured and screeded. Your chosen finish — broom, stamped border, or exposed aggregate — is applied. Control joints are tooled at calculated intervals.
Foot traffic safe after 24 hours. Acrylic sealer applied after the surface has cured (typically 24–48 hours for walkways). Full 4000-PSI design strength at 28 days.

Standard broom-finish walkways run $6–$10 per square foot. Longer or wider walkways benefit from economies of scale on concrete delivery and labor.
Broom finish is the most affordable. Stamped borders add $2–$4 per square foot. Exposed aggregate, which requires surface retarder and washing, runs $8–$12 per square foot.
Entry steps, landings, and porch decks require more forming labor and material. Steps are typically priced per linear foot ($40–$80) in addition to the square footage of flatwork.
ADA-compliant ramps, slopes (1:12 max), and transitions require precise grading and forming. Minimal additional cost but requires extra time for layout and inspection.
Removal and disposal of existing concrete is included in our estimates. Extensive demolition or difficult access (e.g., fenced backyards) may add $1–$2 per square foot.
Front walkways with easy truck access are straightforward. Backyard paths requiring wheelbarrows or concrete pumping add $200–$800 depending on distance and obstacles.
